Education

The Henry Barrow Wine Seminars are designed for law firms, corporations, clubs, social groups or just folks who want to know more about wine and food and how to make them compliment each other.
The seminars were begun when law firms in the South Florida area contacted Henry about teaching their young executives, some right out of college, how to take an international client out to dinner, order the wines and make it seem so natural that the question of food and wine does not dominate the evening.
The day-long seminars are in two parts. The morning session is spent learning about the various wine grapes, where they come from and why they taste differently when grown in different areas.
Participants are also taught what wines go best with certain foods, and how to deviate from the rules of matching food and wine. The afternoon session is spent tasting wines with foods and cheeses. Members of the class are encouraged to taste wines with bad matches so they know why the right wine with the right food makes the meal more enjoyable. Participants are then given wine lists and menus and asked to match the two.
At the end of the seminar participants are given a booklet that reminds them of the things they have learned.
